The Staffin Island Ceilidh Band

We are the Staffin Island Ceilidh Band, 5 lively musicians and our dedicated caller Chris. With over 30 cover songs and 18 dances, we are able to perform for any audience. We love taking requests for your first dance, we feel this can add a personal touch to your evening.

Our typical set up includes an acoustic guitar, fret-less bass, drum kit and two harmonising violins. We like to show new audiences something they have never seen before, by teaching them some of our more uncommon dances. They are easy to understand and more fun than the traditional ones. We can also teach some of the more complex dances like Hamilton House, Reel of the 51st and the Swedish Masquerade, if requested.

We like to travel, and will jump at any opportunity to head North, South, or overseas for your special day.

Sometimes it can be difficult for ceilidh bands to get people up to dance. Our caller Chris is is particularly skilled at getting bums off seats and onto the dance floor.

Our equiptment is PAT tested, we have a top of the range PA kit, and public liability insurance.
