The Letter Press

The Letter Press specialises in traditional high quality wedding stationery. We offer a full service, covering engagement announcements,wedding and evening invitations, reply cards, orders of service, menus, place cards and thank you cards.

The Letter Press was established in 1986 by Anthony Eyre, who learnt his printing skills on an Adana whilst at Stonyhurst College, and later with the William Morris Society on an ex-Kelmscott Press Albion. During the last days of letterpress printing in Fleet Street Anthony managed to salvage a Vandercook proofing press, with which he started printing. The plant doubled in size with the arrival of a Cropper Charlton treadle, which is still in use at The Letter Press today.

As business grew Kate Rous, with marketing experience from both branches and the head office of WH Smith, became a partner and was instrumental in developing our trading links with the John Lewis Partnership and other trading outlets. The Letter Press is now based in attractive workshops in the middle of Cirencester, a beautiful Cotswold Market Town. Here it offers traditional letterpress, litho and modern digital printing as well as foil blocking on a converted Heidelberg platen.
